Jonas Bel’s view of El Águila
Both the Archive and the Regional Library of the Community of Madrid are centers that collect, store, and preserve Madrid’s documentary and bibliographic production. These archives can be consulted by the public in various ways, in reading rooms within their buildings or through online portals. For a few days, some of these documents leave their usual spaces and routines to go out and visit El Águila. Thanks to the digital projector—our modern-day magic lantern that reverses the design of the camera obscura and allows us to project images outwards—some of the historical photographs preserved in the Regional Archive and Library have been able to travel, explore, and be integrated into places different from their own.
